Gain more control over your studio.
Whether you use a DAW in your bedroom or an analog console in a high profile studio, having more control is an important part of working efficiently and easily. We believe the key to your workflow can be found right in front of you, in the Master Section. The Purple Audio Master Section has been developed to be used and customized for any system including desktops and retrofit into analog consoles.
The Purple Audio Master Section consists of a 1RU Master Section box which houses all of the unit’s I/O. The unit can then be connected to a network and influenced by multiple controllers at one time. One example scenario could include a retrofitted control unit in an console, a Desktop controller at the producer’s desk, and multiple iPhone/iPad devices that could each control the flow of your studio.
The Master Section is clearly built for ultimate control of your equipment, but it is also built to last and sound great. The Purple Audio Master Section utilizes input and output transformers and discrete op amps. Amplifier stages have a lay out which allows the sure of standard discrete op amp and DIP-8 IC op amps.
These boxes can also be used to build surround system in 5.1 or 7.1.

I built a new facility in 2015 centered around an API 2488 and a Neve 5315, each 24 I/O. In the midst of investigating how to integrate the consoles together to function as one, I focused on the Master Dilemna, deciding which Consoles Master Section was most suited to being the Grand Master. The answer, of course, was neither.
Niels Kastor (Tech) and I looked at all the available possibilities, with the main focus being uncompromised audio fidelity and ability to handle enough sources to make monitoring both consoles bussing and aux sends and returns possible. I could've spent a LOT more or a LOT less money, meaning the Purple Audio wasn't inexpensive, but fairly priced for what you get.
The obvious functions required were handled very well by the unit, but the things I didn't originally expect to need have really been a welcomed luxury.
1) Relay switching the monitor amps on/off from the console. Never without this feature ever again!!
2) Precise, repeatable Talkback and Reverse Talkback level control
3) Speaker Swap; while chasing down inaccuracies during troubleshooting we learned to love this.
4) A Product Designer who actually picks up the phone during install and gladly helps diagnose whether you're encountering a problem from his end or yours.
We did find a few things in the prototype that needed tweaking, which Andrew sent us a 2nd unit and reimagined the original. How a company handles the inconvenience of a failure is the true test of their character and Purple Audio passed with flying colors.
I'm happy!!
